Welcome to August!
This month we are sewing all of our cupcake papers into perfect little half square triangles!
At the end of July's lesson, we started the process of layering the 5" squares and sewing them in pairs to a cupcake paper. Here is more detail on how I do that, what it looks like to cut them apart, and how best to iron them and remove the paper.
Parts of this section are great for relaxing sessions of repetitive movement, like ironing them open, clipping the dog ears, and removing the papers. Think audio book or favorite tv show with your feet up! You might even want to save this section and use it for cozy winter days or evenings by a fire!
In July's lesson, I showed a series of photos on sewing the cupcake paper to your pair of 5" squares. Here, we pick up from there and show how to take those sewn papers and turn them into your half square triangles (All 1416 of them!) Below, I show an example of how you can cut your squares apart after sewing the dashed lines. (I'm using a rotating cutting mat here, but you can totally do this same thing by just moving the pieces around by hand too.)
*Be sure to trim the outside solid line, NOT the inside solid line!
